Pamela Jakwerth Drake, PhD, received her Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from the University of San Diego, and her PhD from Michigan State University in Measurement and Quantitative Methods, with minors in statistics and human development. Her current work includes evaluating a variety of health education and risk reduction programs developed by ETR staff and other organizations. She also provides senior oversight for ETR’s evaluation services.
She serves as the senior evaluator on many of ETR’s projects, providing valuable evaluation services to school and community-based programs focused on youth populations, as well as regional and national capacity-building assistance programs focused on diverse youth and adult populations. She has had extensive experience directing the evaluations of projects focused on youth sexual health and those using evidence-based programs, and programs providing training or technical assistance for a range of health-related topics. Responsibilities in all projects include grant development, developing and carrying out the evaluation plan (including randomization), creating instruments, analyzing data and writing reports. She is well versed in quasi-experimental as well as experimental (RCT) designs,
She currently serves as the senior evaluator on several different projects focused on adolescent pregnancy and HIV prevention, including a RCT with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and capacity-building assistance work funded by CDC. In addition, Dr. Drake has developed and delivered evaluation training for numerous projects across school-, community- and clinic-based settings.
