Miller, Carole

Carole Miller, M.Ed is the Chief Learning Officer for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest where she began her Sexuality Education career in 1989 as a Community Health Educator. As a former public school teacher and school board member, she saw the results of poor or no sexuality education from both the administrative and program side of the educational table, and was thrilled to join the Planned Parenthood team. Carole, along with an Education and Training leadership team, supports a passionate and dedicated team of Community Educators and Trainers, and a wide range of internal and external programs, including extensive parent education programs and a month-long October focus called “Families are Talking.” She has been providing FLASH (Family Life and Sexual Health) teaching training since 1990. She oversees Planned Parenthood University (PPU), an online sexuality and patient education certification series. PPGNW recently formed the Northwest Coalition of Adolescent Health with five other affiliates and was awarded a $20 million federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention grant to implement Youth Development Programs in five states. PPGNW hosted the first Drawing Water from a Deeper Well Conference for Sexuality Educators, and Carole serves as the training chair of APPLE (Association for Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education).
